Internal communications

It is so important that employees are happy at work and fully understand what you are collectively trying to achieve. Not just because you want to keep good people on board, but also because work satisfaction relates directly to performance. Your employees are key representatives of the brand. And as ambassadors they form a vital connection between your customers and business aspirations.

Effective, clear internal communications are essential to inspire staff and keep them informed of all issues and developments that will be relevant to your growing success and reputation.

Infographics are a useful and compelling way to communicate information quickly and clearly to the people you are trying to influence.

The graphics illustrated above and to the left resulted from a strategic development programme to define and clarify the aims of St Joseph’s College. When finalised these were incorporated into the design referred to as the ‘circle of aims’. The versatility of the design enabled the College to apply it to signage, internal communication, parent communication and a wide range of marketing materials – including mouse mats and coasters as a frequent reminder!

I carried out some work with Raglan Housing to help them to create more engaging and impactful communication for their staff inductions and management training. The charity already had an established brand image, but their internal communications were not incorporating this and much of the material contained deviations that were inconsistent and muddled.

Working closely with their Head of Communications and Training Manager, I designed a series of induction brochures, training manuals and presentation templates to increase employee engagement. The finished products did the job well, looking much more attractive, easier to read and consistent with the brand.
